Known as "The Home of the Sun God", Delta South is tucked in the extreme south west corner of mainland British Columbia. The two urban centers, Ladner & Tsawwassen, (approx 5 km apart) are separated by a belt of some of Canada's most fertile farmland.

Just 20 minutes south of Vancouver at the U.S. border and bounded by water on 3 sides, the 40,000 residents of Delta South enjoy a very temperate year round climate. With the most hours of sunshine of any area in the Lower Mainland and fresh onshore breezes making it virtually pollution free, the area is a very popular destination for young and old alike.

Local industry includes farming, a commercial fishery, the Roberts Bank Superport and two huge industrial complexes at Tilbury and Annacis Island, both on the Fraser River.

B.C.Ferry service to Vancouver Island and the beautiful Gulf Islands is located at Tsawwassen and there are half a dozen marinas for private vessels of all sizes.

The Vancouver International Airport is located on Sea Island in Richmond and is only about 15 minutes from Delta South by car. Delta South also boasts its own private airport at Boundary Bay which serves various areas of the Province and is home base to many private plane owners. Boundary Bay was a military air base during World War II and has very substantial runways and infrastructure.

A couple of local tourist attractions are the Reifel Wildfowl Refuge on Westham Island in Ladner and the warm sandy beaches of Boundary Bay at the International border between Tsawwassen and the peninsula of Point Roberts in the U.S.A.

As a lifetime resident of Delta South, Richard Lowe knows the people and history of the community, and best of all, he knows the local real estate market. Whether you're Buying or Selling, he has background information that will benefit YOU!
